Announcing the winners of our competition to win free registration to FENS 2020
Thank you to everyone who entered our FENS 2020 registration competition, we received a vast number of entries and were very impressed with the high standard of answers submitted.
Our judging panel, Matt Kemp, Managing Director, Dr. Christian Wilms, Research and Development Manager and Alex Murray, Head of Engineering and R&D, have reviewed the anonymised entries, and we are delighted to announce that the winners are Joaquin Garat and Eduardo Fernandez.
Matt Kemp, Managing Director explains, “We received a breadth of inspiring entries. Eduardo and Joaquin’s answers provided superb justification as to why they should be chosen to attend, and we are delighted to support these researchers as well as FENS and the neuroscience community.”
Christian Wilms, Research and Development Manager added, “It was encouraging to receive entries from researchers across five continents, who are passionate about developing their career.”
Alex Murray, Head of Engineering and R&D stated, “Thank you to everyone who took the time to enter, it’s great to see so much enthusiasm for neuroscience. It was difficult to choose between the many entries but Joaquin and Eduardo’s statements stood out against the crowd and we’re happy to help facilitate their contribution to the international neuroscience community.”
Following the announcement of the winners, Joaquin Garat, commented, “I am glad to receive the opportunity to attend the FENS virtual forum. I am a young scientist from Uruguay and I am nowadays analyzing data from novel techniques such as single cell RNAseq from mouse cortex, and plan to visualize locally translated proteins in myelinated axons. In this forum I hope to attend fascinating talks, and I am going to be in contact with great scientists who are developing and employing useful and novel techniques. I am very excited to have this opportunity and I will make the most of it!”.
